Drew this as kind of a whim. Yes the demon dog is biting his own tail… but see it sassed him and now he’s teaching it a lesson. Um-yep.
Took the sketch into Illustrator CS and vectored the crap out of it… lots of fun. Was about 10 or so layers but I likes him. I love the new thing in Illustrator CS that let’s me look into all of the paths on a layer. Useful. I think that’s about it.

This was a speed painting. It took about 45 min to an hour to paint this picture in shitty acrylic paint that you can buy in a hobby shop for a buck.
The original for this was all kinds of colors that didn’t work together (like orange and blue). While scanning it into the computer I found that the picture was very striking in black and white. It had really good texture and dramatic lighting, which was not even obvious in the original ugly color version.
Thus I have saved your eyes and colored the black and white version of the original picture a nice simple dark blue. Looks rather like a children’s book illustration now…
The new coloring adds so much.
The original 5.5″ x 8.5″ color picture with it’s odd colors is for sale. Also I can make prints with this blue coloring. If you’re interested in more info leave a comment. I have to add paypal at some point. =]
Hmmm, what can I say about this? I did this for a comics group called Friends of Lulu which is a group that promotes and encourages female readership and participation in the comic book industry.
This was a cute badge I drew with their mascot girl. I updated her to look a little more modern and more anime. She’s pretty cute. This was used as the cover on a freebe book that was in comic shops on Free Comic Book day.
