Heh heh, we used the word ass! Here is the final page of issue one! Yay! Here Lavender gets to taunt people! Also Stanley licks Saiko in the background of Panel 1.

In panel 5 there is a pop from above and Saiko tells Lavender to “Open the door!” Also I get to stick the spider girl’s name in there as a Spiderman joke when she says, “Kumo sense tingling.”

Again don’t be like me, if you decide to name your characters with retarded Japanese words believe me 5 to 7 years later you will look back and wonder what type of anime/manga crack you were smoking… Unless you somehow still think it’s cool and then there’s nothing I can tell you other then we laugh sometimes. But really we’re laughing with you and crying inside because, we remember.

Heh heh, the spider girl is not immune to Lavender’s car!

Okay so this is the last page of issue one so now the updates will go down to one page a week every Tuesday and I’ll introduce my brand new comic I think Thursday. Yay!

Well, there goes the panda Magical girl under the feet of her own monster… I should point out that by the end of this one issue we’ve amassed quite a body count all over. Oddly this is the one issue we really kill a lot in. Since the plot turns to actually having characters that are more powerful then Saiko and Lavender there’s not as much death. The first issue sort of established that their world is a bit callus on life though. Which we don’t use much. But it’s there if we want to. Personally, I just thought it was funny.

Monster captions

Panel two-

MAGICAL MONSTER: Wanna see god?! Have poisonous prickly pear!

STANLEY: Not really! I haven’t packed!

We liked the idea that magic was like a computer program and you’d need a serial number to control some of it.

Panel four-

MAGICAL MONSTER: Augk???! This is no ordinary bubble for which to pop with pointy things!

Panel five through seven-

MAGICAL MONSTER: NO! This cannot be popped even by a thousand pointy things tied together! Save meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…!

At the end Saiko asks Lavender “What no dramatic explosion?” and Lavender says “Be patient. Not yet.”

Dear Save Marriage Alliance,

Stick your “marriage is between a man and a women” amendment up your butt. But thanks for you recorded poll/message that you phoned me with, since it told me that it’ll be on the November ballot. I’ll be sure to vote no for that amendment.

No love.

I was already feeling crappy. This does not help. Crawls on the ground. Meh~ just shot me dead it would take the sting out of getting out of bed these last couple of mornings.

The one nice thing for today was finding that my “Return to Green Hollow” Webcomic got a link from the nice peeps on WebSnark. Bumped my hits about double or triple or more as I usually get about 40 visitors. Green Hollow is the strange comic that so far has gotten all of the friendly press. I’m not complaining though. It’s nice to know that I’m not just throwing this stuff into the void or something.

I got to see Neil Gaiman at Book People this Monday for his new book Anansi Boys. That was pretty cool. I’ve never really been to a true book signing that had a reading and everything. I did go and see Bruce Campbell when he had his signing but it wasn’t quite the same. It’s interesting to watch an author read from their books. It must be quite nerve wracking the first time. Gaiman seemed rather comfortable but he’s been doing it awhile. The Q and A part was neat as well. But the whole thing seems like it would all depend on the personality of the speaker. Was neat, too bad I had to go home and die… I mean sleep. I felt bad that I didn’t have the money to actually buy his new book but since Book People sold out of it I guess it’s okay.

Ah, and now on to the real monster battle. With our tiny monster talking font. Which if you can’t read will be reproduced here:

Panel one-

STANLEY: Stop your evil!! I will use feet of force

MAGICAL MONSTER: Stop? Fear my plethora of points!

RABBIT: No! Stop!! We shouldn’t be fighting each other!

Panel two-

RABBIT: We’re animals. It is people we should fight. They enslave us! They subject us to horrible tests! They even baste and eat some of us with mint jelly! That’s just wrong!

Panel three-

RABBIT: I was once a mere meadow rabbit till I was mutated by evil people testing a new pet food made completely from reconstituted industrial toxic waste. Now I have no choice but to destroy to survive.

LOL, I like how Stanley seems moved but this speech. There’s also a small word balloon that says “KILL!” which is Lavender, I believe, telling Stanley to get a move on it.

Panel four-

MAGICAL MONSTER: Cease being! Big speech makes heads hurt. Feel agony of gastric cacti-cooler!

RABBIT: Owie! I be melty!

Panel five-

STANLEY: Succulent Bastard!

MAGICAL MONSTER: That’s right. Come sit on the lap of death and purr oh twisted cretin!

RABBIT: Albuquerque…

Heh heh, I love the monsters. I secretly snuck Fred Perry’s name on to this page. I’m a ninja!

Giant monster battle!!

In panel 1 the girls next to the monsters say “bad monster bad.” Also the monster is totally disintegrating one of them with acid.

And now my retarded “first you say it then you do it” joke. Repeated three times in three different ways. The guy in panel 2 in the falling trunk says “piss!”

Heh, it’s a carrot factory. The monsters are really messed up but I really like the cactus guy for his three faces. One perpetually stabbed with spikes, one always mad, and one cute as a button. Cute things have to be hurt! The two magical girls are a spider girl with 6 arms and another panda girl, this one has white ears. The spider girl is another one of my really old characters with a really stupid Japaneses name which is not worth mentioning here. It’s spider if you must know. Yeah retarded anime/manga fan naming scheme GO! Don’t be like me kids.

In panel 5 Lavender remarks “Oh, nice shot” as the monster shoots his own head off. The spider girl gives the monster the finger.

Lavender says in panel 6 at the bottom of the panel “That means you can shut up…” as she digs for her potion.

And we’re back to me penciling and Mike inking and toning for the rest of the issue. Mike picked up his job at Interactive Imaginations somewhere between the start of the book and the end of it. It was good because it meant he had money and bad because he didn’t have as much time.

Here are the cows, back with Saiko and Lavender in the car on the way to their job.

At some point in the mad dash of writing issue one we had a joke. To remember this joke we wrote down “Cow Joke” sadly that wasn’t enough information and neither of us can remember just what that damn joke was… except that it had something to do with cows.

Stuff about page will be here at some point in a few hours. I’m sorry I’m so late all the time. =[

Back…

Heh heh, my favorite page. I love the silent space screamy. Originally it was something like “aaaiiieee!” but I made the point that it’s space and there’s no air to carry a scream. I suggested something silent like a * but we ended up with this because one of us suggested it as a joke.

In Panel one Saiko says “I didn’t do it.” And after the clone explodes in Panel three the girl scouts say “I’m going to be sick” and other “I… I shouldn’t of eaten all those cookies…”

In panel 4 Saiko says “I’m watching you” to the clone and clone says “Yeah, so?”

Heh heh, Mike had the little floating girl scout mascot thingy all over this part but it never does anything. There was a joke in there somewhere but at this point I don’t remember what it was.

LOL, the blond alien girl scout is starting to change to look like Saiko… heh heh Saiko flu. She is contagious. =D

And the clone vs clone fight has my favorite line. “Don’t sass me uni-peeper! I’m the keeper clone!” Makes me laugh everytime.

Whoops I found an error in the toning… maybe… maybe no one will notice if I just hide behind my monitor. Sneaks away.
