Kitties, kitties, kitties
Cute art of kitties. Here’s a little sticker I sent to some one as a freebie for ordering a sticker from me. I was doodling on a piece of left over sticker paper and then I inked it with my brush pen. =] I love drawing kitties.

I could have sworn that I’d posted this picture before but I checked and for some reason I haven’t, so here it is. It’s a hypno kitty he tells you to obey. I’m not sure what he commands but I sure want to buy some tuna and drop it on the floor… man that’s weird. This is the second index card I drew in my giant run of tiny index card pictures. The first colored index card is in this post. These were the only ones in color.

Kitties!
The Best thing about Comics + cute
One of the best things for me about making comics, is giggling while I make them.
I’m working on one of the later My Muse gags that I laid out and it’s going really well. I finished the layouts for the most recent story and it clocks in at 4 pages… it missed going up to 5 pages by the fact that there just wasn’t enough of the story to split the last page into 2 pages… I thought about it though. I laid out 6 pages total and this project is slowly coming together in my mind as a book. I have roughly 40 pages for it at this point give or take 5 pages. Meh, I wish I was further.
So I’ve been drawing cute girls as superheros. I’m not really sure why since I’m not the biggest fan of superhero stuff. Mostly cause they don’t really have stories I’m interested in. Anyway this is a sort of my thought on a making do with clothing someone would actually wear instead of a uniform. Just something cute.

God why am I up so early?

LOL might be good to add the page…

Sweeet. So this isn’t quite on time but it’s still really early in the day so I consider this a triumph. I feel the need to point out that my brain is the most retarded thing ever. Fuck it’s frustrating, I want to draw comics, I like and enjoy drawing them, but my damn head has me avoid them like they’re a grenade or something. Erggh. I’m working on that. My current Motto is “no excuses” I’m not a fragile artist who just has to avoid work to protect something head case-y… I’m mostly a lazy bastard. Heh, not to say I don’t do a lot of art stuff but man I could be doing way more easily and comfortably and it would make me happier too. =D
This current Muse story doesn’t have a set number of pages cause I was avoiding the comic all week and didn’t layout this page until 9:00 last night so I have 3 pages of this story as roughs so far but I know it has maybe a page or two more over that. So I’ll change the number as soon as a figure out the rest of the layouts for it.
I picked up a comic at the shop today by Brandon Graham called “King City”. It’s made of awesome! Filled to the brim with it. Man, I haven’t been this happy with a comic in a long time. Just looking at the art makes me super pleased. You can check out his Deviant Art gallery here to see his art and comics: http://royalboiler.deviantart.com/ and you can only get the book at comic shops cause Tokyopop doesn’t F-ing know what’s good for them. Fuck! Anyway Amazon should damn well have it, looks for link… NO, well I guess TP doesn’t want to make anything easy. God damn them. >_< Here's a link to their stupid site for the book: King City. Rolls eyes.
Edit: Ah, so I found this great news for King City: “Tokyopop’s first “Diamond Exclusive” product – where it will be available to retailers via Diamond for three months before mass-market bookstores.” I’m soo happy it’ll go to book stores so my comic shop lacking friends can find it.
I also while avoiding the comic work I drew a cute picture of Homoshiro’s icon character off of DA, as a hot half nakkid dude eating a donut… heh heh you know you want to check it out: http://www.deviantart.com/view/51481440/

Style musings with art
This is a bunch of little things that I drew to figure out how to draw hands and bodies for My Muse. I tend to draw one thing over and over in different ways to see which version I like the best. Or even to just figure out how it would work.
I like to draw little pictures of me in the Muse style doing different things. Sometimes I make those images into comics. A lot of times I’m just laughing at myself. =]

Index Cards 003 and 004 – The kid
So this was part of an series of 4 x 6 index cards that I did last year. This is one of the very earliest of them and before I was really putting much effort into them… lol, I had a couple that were sort of haphazard things with images of ferrets on them that I’m glad I’ve lost in my room.
Both of these images were drawn on 8/13/06 and are on the same card, front and back but I believe I drew this image first.

Both pictures are of a character I draw on and off called the kid. Here he is slightly older then the little kid I normally draw him as… he is also the character ‘Doubt’ in the “My Muse” comic.

Both of these images were drawn with a ballpoint and a brush pen. They are very quick sketches and inks. I like the way the brush pen breaks apart in the blacks.
Art! Early design of “My Muse” me and Mike drawing

This was picture was drawn sometime in 2005 but I thought it was pretty cute. This was before I had figured out exactly what I wanted the “My Muse” version of myself to look like. So this is a work in progress image as I was testing the style. Also tiny sketch of Mike working on art. Yeah he sits like that… it doesn’t look comfortable but I’m sure I draw all wierd too since I tend to draw on my lap. Anyway, happy teeth!
I don’t seem to update very much of my artwork… even though I draw a lot. So I thought I’d start posting more stuff for you guys. No reason not to it’s just hanging out and all. =]

Yay for friday updates!
This was part of a set of index card illustrations I was doing on and off last year for fun. This was done on 9-30-06 and is number 41… of 44 although I think I may go back to making them. Index Cards are a lot of fun to do cause they go so quickly and are easy to finish. This one has me and Daria discussing the trials of money. Heh.
