So I just received an email that made my day so much brighter and happier and wow I’m all glowing and want to reply with terrible art things. Ah, if only I had the time to follow the Muse to make joyful art replies to my hate mail for all of you to enjoy. Instead, I drew another picture of my flaming hot Man-gay devil guy. I would post him to DA again but DA is sucking right now so he goes up here.

It seems that his hair made of fire is too hot to put into a ponytail… the hair-tie pretty much melts. Not so sure about his character design yet but I do like the fact that he just about can’t wear clothing cause his hair will set it on fire. I have such horrible plans for this poor guy. Also I’m debating some sort of “soul patch” or chin fuzz. Flaming chin fuzz. Heh, maybe not. =]

My Muse, Page 39: Long way to go…

This continues the last comic by about a page… The Man-gay thing came from me trying to describe some thing that was sort of manga-like to Mike over AIM. I ended up typing the word “mangay” and couldn’t stop laughing for half an hour cause it totally looked wrong in all sorts of ways. Now I just sort of call all that stuff man-gay. =]

So this was an image I did awhile ago based on a Guess ad. Every time I see their name on shirts or pants I can’t help thinking that I’m suppose to guess they’re actually a dude or something. It’s like they’re asking me to guess their secret shame.

More girls from teen magazines. I was struggling with not cartooning the mouth so much and yet still having the picture look like the girl was smiling… the mouth doesn’t actually come to a point so it’s a little odd. I didn’t succeed on the smile for the Wal*mart one. So I made the teeth sort of a joke.

My Muse, Page 37
My Muse, Page 37: Keep Dreaming… Part 3 0f 4

So, I thought of posting this up page on April fools day and making the bottom two panels black with just a “then she died” at the bottom and a small journal about how I was giving up on comics and what not. But then I thought about and decided that wasn’t funny so I made a picture of 2 naked guys for everyone instead.

I called up Mike the other day and I was all “So, I finished My Muse…” And then I said “well not all 300 pages” and Mike was all “wow you’re fast.” I gave him the finger even if he couldn’t see it. What I meant was that I’ve finished all of the layouts I had so now I’m 3 pages ahead on the comic which will hopefully mean that I’ll start inking again. I’m feeling pretty good about the comic work right now although it seems to fit that area in my head where I try to avoid my paying work. Mostly known as, surfing the internet. So deadline looming “ah, I should draw this My Muse panel”. Sitting around “I could be working” well lets finish this Muse page. Pages just seemed to end up done that way. It’s a good sign.

Now, I’m out of postable layouts to work on (I have two extra layouts that don’t get posted so I could still do those) and I’m up to page 40 on My Muse. 10 more pages and I’m a 1/6th of the way through. I have to take a break from getting ahead on My Muse to work on a different comic for the money. Thankfully My Muse will still come out on time cause I have a backlog.

In other news, whee, I dreamed I got hit by a bus. =]

Lol, I forgot it was Thursday… boo. Anyway here is the page for today. I believe the Saiko licking the car gag at the very bottom was originally much bigger but I think this page got a bit crowded. Maybe this sequence was originally 2 pages and it became 1 for some reason, time constraints? it’s hard to remember at this point. Saiko eats her elephant friends and sells them as popsicles! That’s sort of creepy. But look money! Tasty money! Num num. =_=

So once more it is April the first and I do enjoy this day in my own little way. So, once more I give to you all a picture I drew just for the fans that sometimes ask me for random art. I AM SO EVIL. =]

Heh poor Tom and Eric. These are my guys from my old comic Handle With Care. I hope you like Twig… you did ask for more of them. =>

Thanks for all the comments and emails… they really help me when I’m feeling down and the art is punching me… please don’t hurt me for this.
