More marker tests for My Muse

Buy this image as a print from my online store!

I still have no idea what I’m doing with these markers. =<

5 things:

  • 1. Ikkicon, next week. I bought ink for my printer and now I need to use it. Focus!
  • 2. My car repair just ate my bank account. Oh boy, catalytic converter! At least, I’m glad I’d paid off my other bills already for this next month.
  • 3. Artichoke Hearts are delicious. Completely random. Yum.
  • 4. Culture clashes with politeness. – The comments are awesome on this one. It’s like what is polite can be rude and what’s rude is actually polite.
  • 5. Is anyone else running into problems with Firefox crashing and refusing to save bookmarks and instead saving random images as your bookmark…? That’s not the plural of bookmark cause it keeps saving over the same link over and over again. I tried re-instailing already. Oh and Firefox takes out Photoshop when it goes so Photoshop only pretends to save. HATE. >_<

6? From a Michael’s craft store ad printed April 08.

Michael's craft store ad printed April 08

So many questions arise from this ad… What is that girl carrying? A ballpoint pen? Why is she choking a teddy bear? What kind of outfit is that? I am truly afraid for the guy’s poor arms. Ah, Comic Sans, the only time you show up in this ad is right here. =(

Marker tests in color

I spent most of today digging out my markers and trying to remember how to used them. I’m planning to make some color My Muse pictures and character sheets. I’m trying to fix the sad fact that I keep forgetting how to draw my own characters. =/ However it’s been so long since I used these markers that I feel all out of sorts using them.

Witness the awesome power of me trying to color stuff.

Stuck in the corner with me... My Muse

LOL, well hopefully I’ll start to remember how to use these markers.

I give you a narwhal

I’ve gotten sick twice since I returned from Japan. Thank you body, you traitor. On the other hand I didn’t get sick at all while wondering around Japan and going to Comike so I guess it’s not too bad. I other news, um Livejournal exploded with Drama so I’ve been tucked all safely away watching from the bleachers and staying very quiet. I was working on work stuff but I found out that we aren’t moving on the projects I finished until next month or two. Noooes. Why? So, now I have to change gears and work on something else. Thankfully the project I was working on will pay me money at some point just not soon.

So here, I give to you all a Narwhal boy barely wearing a swimming suit.

I have a convention coming up in Austin, Texas on Feb 6-8 called Ikkicon. It should be fun. Please come by and laugh at how unprepared I am going to be. I HAVE CUTE CAT BUTTONS, TAKE PITY ON ME!

I also plan to actually have some My Muse mini comics for sale(parts 1 and 2 for sure) and sneak peaks at some of the strips I haven’t posted! You too can peer into the future of my own laziness. PEER I SAY!

Back from Japan

I actually got in on Sunday night super-duper late since US Airways really wanted to send me all over the US and leave my hanging out in the San Francisco airport for 6 hours before sending me to Denver cause they only have one direct flight from SFO to Austin and it was overbooked. I ate clam chowder out of a bread bowl while I waited.

Wow, the week has just zoomed by, how the hell is it Friday? I think I spent most of the week sleeping or something. I meet up with Shawnna and Sterling on Monday night to gave out gift things and talk about stuff. Was good to see friends and talk to people in English. Though Sterling says I seemed to have picked up the whole “talking while not looking people in the eye” thing that the Japanese do. O_o Weird. Shawnna spent some time looking through my giant stack of doujinshi that I picked up. I gave her an adorable doujinshi all about owning rats.

On Tuesday I made a trip down to San Antonio to see James. OMG, gas was 1.49!!! I left on Tuesday cause his birthday was on Wednesday and those were the two days he knew he had off from his job. I didn’t get sick at all while I was in Japan and I made a joke right before we left that “Just you wait, when I get back to the US that’s when I’ll get horribly sick.” I was right. So, I spent some of Wednesday sniffling and coughing. But I had a great time hanging out with James. I bought him a tiny cake for his birthday and we watched the “Kamekaze girls” movie. I also gave him a Superman and Batman doujinshi that I’d picked up at Comic Market.

I left at 4 in the morning of Thursday and then spent most of that day asleep, except for lunch with family.

I wish we had convenience stores like they had in Japan and I also miss the ubiquitous vending machines. I really wanted to get hot corn soup in a bottle from a vending machine while I was feeling sick over here. I also miss the onigiri, crust cut off sandwiches, and the sweet mochi that they’d sold at the Lawson next to our hotel in Ueno. =<

But I’m glad to be home.

There will be some real posts about Japan once I get more sleep and after I get some work for this week on the move. I can’t believe how fast time has passed me by.
