King City Fanart

Looks like the reshuffling of Tokyopop is starting and it appears that the reality of book cancelings and online versions is happening for many of the people I know/follow online. I keep poking around and looking at these goings on with interest. I had expected something like this and yet never ever expect it to actually happen. I’m use to the comic company that just lingers on and on and on slowly withering but gripping to life with brittle crusted fingers never gracefully exiting the stage until the final moments… sometimes becoming a zombie and lurching back to life type thing. This sudden shifting fast paced Tokyopop news relay has me a bit taken aback. Then again TP use to be Mixxzine until suddenly it wasn’t so I don’t know why I’m so surprised.

Fear Comics!

Before all this stuff started happening, I made some random “King City” fanart. “King City” is an awesome comic put out by Brandon Graham through Tokyopop. This was drawn last week. I don’t know why I doodled it or what the Owl is doing in that top hat or the tiny whale… but there it is. Originally I had the guy, Joe, holding the cat in an impossible way but then I punched me in the face and told myself to fix it, so now he might actually be holding that cat.

King City! I love this comic. I also drew this last week back when Tokyopop had planned to print volume 2.

Wolverine, X-men movie

Is he wearing make up? Not sure why he’s wearing eye shadow. I’m guessing it was one too many viewings of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie that did it. Anyway this marks an interesting turn towards drawing cool super heroes. May draw more in the future.

Eyeshadow Woverine

I have the original pencil picture somewhere and I could sell it. Leave me a comment for more info.

Courtney Crumrin

She’s cute, anti-social, and mean (also her name is hard to spell). Courtney Crumrin is from a comic by Ted Naifeh. I like the comic so I drew a little picture of her. I don’t know why she’s not wearing shoes or why her socks are miss-matched.

Winter Jingle Belle

It’s Winter! Jingle Belle. This was suppose to be my top image for Christmas but due to a busy schedule it wasn’t posted up here until now.

Dawn

A cute picture of Dawn that I drew awhile ago. Her hair was hard to adjust from the bad scan I had. This picture has small Petty references: her outlines are all done in red and her arm bands are not colored.

Unusual U, back cover

This is a picture I did for the back cover of Unusual U #2 for Radio Comix. The blond guy in front is Alberto, he’s an arrogant punk (whee). The guy behind him is the main character Danny. It’s a comic of high school mishaps and SCIENCE. Yes science.

Dawn the Animated Series

This is a joke based on the Batman, animated series. Could you imagine an animated show with Linsner’s Dawn? I think the skull pattern on all of her clothing would drive the animators insane. But it was still fun to draw the character in the Batman style.

Jingle Belle and Tashi Ounce

Um… yeah so I was reading this very cute little book by Paul Dini (you know the guy who works on the Batman cartoon) called Jingle Belle. So, I guess I had to draw the little leopard girl… now why I drew her and Jingle in a compromising position? Well you can decide but no one had to twist my arm! =)
