Sorry for posting this really late, at this point you only have until noon Thursday to vote. =/ This weeks derby theme on Shirt Woot is “Visual Puns”, which has yielded a lot of entries of all different kinds. There are quite a LOT of good entries getting mostly ignored this week and with almost 325 entries I had a lot to go through. I looked through all of the entries and these were the ones I picked that seemed to be sadly overlooked or under voted. There were MANY more good entries I’m not even touching on. These were my favorites not in the top 4, your millage may vary.

I’ll start from the least votes and go up to the most.

Shirt Woot’s derby is a bit weird. To vote you’ll need to have purchased at least one thing from any of the 4 Woot sites. Once you have purchased something that account can then vote in the Derby. You may vote for as many shirts as you want and remove any of the votes at any time.

Okay so now that that’s out of the way here are the shirts that I like and think need some support.

Nurse Sharks – Currently at 66 votes

Who can pass up sharks dressed as nurses? Not me. I love all of the shark’s expressions, and the little boy in the wheelchair is just the icing on the cake. This is nice amusing image that was submitting late in the derby.

Pie Alamo’d – Currently at 126 votes

I believe this was the last submission entered and it’s really a shame cause not only is a very clever pun, the illustration is really nice. They are getting a good chunk of votes but I wish it had been submitted earlier. I like the colors and the line weights too.

The colors really pop on this submission and art is very stylish. The pun seem to be clear but even if you don’t catch it the art is strong enough that it doesn’t look confusing or odd. This really should have gotten more votes.

Rambo – Currently at 222 votes

The illustration on this is just really really nice. It’s one of the few times I think a shirt with a Heather gray texture would really enhance the image. I only wish they had worked in a bow to the image to make the pun stand out more and give it more layers.

Sky Diving – Currently at 405 votes

I really liked the inking and style this image is done in. The color choice is really pleasing and the pun is easy to grasp. The slight off to the right placement on the t-shirt gives it a nice whimsical appeal. I really wish it was doing better.

Nose Hares – Currently at 722 votes

I won’t lie, this is my favorite entry in the derby and also the one I most want to print. It cracks me up every time I see it. This has a lot of votes but is not doing well enough to get printed. I just really love how this was drawn and put together and all the little detail in the image are so well done. Also it’s gross… I like that.

Anyway please give these guys some love if you like them as well. I’m thinking my tastes aren’t universal or anything but it seems like some of these designs are just lost in the crowd at the moment.
