I submitted a batch of shirt designs to Threadless figuring that a wide scatter shot approach might help people look at a few of my designs at one time. It’s good to try new places for these older derby entries. Most of these guys are from the Visual Pun Derby, which I think was my favorite derby that woot has done so far. Please give me a vote if you can, Threadless is easy to vote on all you need is an account to cast a vote.

I finished a new design that I’m going to submit to Woot for a normal daily shirt and I may have a shirt of mine picked to run on one of the other sites. I’m hoping things will pick up here on the shirt front. But even if it’s still slow at least I have plenty of art for the art shows and prints. Actually that reminds me I still need to post the tiny cat stripe original paintings that I have left over from Staple!

Ha ha ha ha, the Lady GaGa video for Telephone is so weird and odd that I’m not sure what to think. However the pink SUV from Kill Bill shows up in it, which makes me laugh every time. I’m surprised that they actually show the name on that thing. The fashion is odd on purpose of course but I sort of like the completely non-functional cigarette sunglasses and the curlers made out of beer cans. =D

I like the song but the the one thing I hate about the video is that it keeps interrupting the music to have very bad acting. It’s just so weird. The only conversation piece I like is the conversion about the broken mirror. I wonder how much MTV is going to cut from this thing over time, I’m watching it super late at night so they’re currently showing all of the video. But most of the time they cut out really long openings and odd bits on videos as they get older.

Ha, actually in the last hour of music videos I’ve already seen a shorter cut up version of the video. That was fast.. then again maybe it’s hit morning instead of late night viewing. Oh boy, it’s 6 AM!

There’s a lot of ass shots in this thing.

Why do they have a random Thriller dance in the middle of the video?

Random Music thingy: I keep thinking that Justin Bieber kid is one hot looking lesbian… ha ha ha… Man his earlier videos had me laughing on the floor with that. Alas, no. =]

I’ve also been listening the crap out of Adam Lambert’s CD. I really like the damn thing. I always feel vaguely bad about liking pop music so much but I just really like things with catchy melodies. I also really like that Lambert does these odd old fashion things with his voice. He actually surprises me with his singing, makes me happy. I bought his CD after listening to the album on his home page. I felt bad about that cause all I did was rip the music off the CD and put it on my ipod. I should probably just buy an mp3 download next time. =/

I just finished a huge cat stripe painting and I have no idea how I will seal the thing. It’s 20″ x 30″ and light blue. I have a huge table that I can lay it out on and drop cloth to protect the floor but nothing big enough to cover the painting so that I can keep the cat hairs off of it. Stupid cats. I might need to buy a bigger can of sealant too and some large brushes to really cover this thing quickly so that I don’t have brush strokes showing up on it.

Might need to go talk to an art store person who knows what to do just to be sure I don’t mess up my image.

I’m not even thinking about how the hell I will ever scan something THAT big. Maybe I’ll take a photo of it. =/

Staple! was pretty cool. Me and Shawnna didn’t get much sleep before the con and we were sort of late to set up but it was a nice relaxing convention. Sells weren’t great but I think it helped me figure out how much to charge for my tiny paintings. I sold mostly the ones with bunnies on them, which I thought was weird until mom reminded me that Easter was coming up.

I’ll put up a chunk of the remaining paintings on Etsy. I’ve been wanting to try that site out for awhile now. I’ll put them also up as small prints because I think they are adorable.

I’m trying to be better about scheduling my work. I always feel so listless since I don’t have a job that I get up and leave the house for, so I end up keeping terrible work hours. So, I’m trying to make myself follow these guys awesome schedule. I work really well to it, I just tend to fall off the horse if I don’t watch myself like a hawk.

Tomorrow I’m going to be working on getting some of my old Woot designs cleaned up and submitted to other sites. Then I plan to make a bunch of these random shirt ideas that I’ve been thinking about but have been too distracted to get to. Lots of puns and cats!

I just finish another Lolmart cat shirt which hopefully will go up soon. Maybe this week or next week. I’ll keep you guys updated. It has an adorable kitten on it. =D

I’m having one of those nights where I’m not sleeping. The brain is worried about life so I toss and turn. Nothing distinct that I can grasp, mostly I’m worried about comics. For some reason now that I want to go back to doing them, the brain thinks I want to make ALL of them right now, which freaks out the logical side of the brain. Rolls eyes.

The fact that Staple! The Independent Media Expo, is this Saturday isn’t helping. Me and Shawnna are sharing a table at Staple so I really should be getting ready for it. I have a bunch of cute little stripe cat paintings (small ones, 2″ x 3″) made for the show. However no real way to display them… and the rest of my stock is sort of all over the place. I have time but the brain is freaking out.

So here are some of the little paintings I’ve been working on… I have no idea what to price these guys at. The x-ray one is 1.5 x 3 inches and all the others are 2 x 3 inches. They’ve be sealed so they are nice, glossy and most importantly durable.

I can make small prints of these little guys and of course the originals will be for sale… as soon as I figure out how much to charge.

This is only a small sampling of the paintings I’ve been doing. A little bit of Missmonster is creeping into these as I go along. I get bored and add some weird tongues to keep things interesting. I have about 14 of these small images and a few larger images I did as tests. I’m going to try and finish another batch of 7 today if I can. I’m starting to slip in bunnies as I go.

I hope all of you guys are getting sleep. I’m going to go paint a little.

My entry for Woot’s “Faster, Higher, Stronger” derby which is based on the Olympic motto. Voting ends on Thursday at Noon please toss me a vote, if you can.

I thought it’d be awesome to represent each word of the motto using item you collect in the Legend of Zelda video games… though they also work if you consider them to be Greek mythological items.

Faster = Pegasus boots/Hermes’ boots

All I want to draw is cats as stripes, which is bad since I should be working on a bunch of other projects. I made 2 of these pink ones trying to get the matt board to bleed through like it did on the first one. But I can’t seem to get the same look. Mildly frustrating. This is what I get for re-using old matt board that could be years old at this point. No way to know what caused the bleeding either. The art store guy I talked to about it didn’t believed that it was the paper since arylics aren’t supposed to do this… Something about acyrlics sealing stuff and things.

I’m trying a test project to see if it’s the paint… but I think it’s the paper. If it’s the paint, than at least green things will get that weird old fashion effect but that hinders me on color choice. =/ I have a painting planned that’s 20″ x 30″ eeeee I’m so excited my first large painting. I haven’t done one of those in a long time.

Anyway here is the first of my pink cat stripes!

Yay, it looks like I might be making art for an iphone game. I have no idea how that will go. Excitement.

I made another cat painting. This is a 5 x 7 image I made using acrylic paints on a scrap piece of black matt board. I based it on these striped journals I saw at the book store. I just keep thinking, “how can I make everything, even this simple striped journal, have cats hidden in it…?”

I wasn’t happy with the painting really and then I sealed it and suddenly the black of the matt board started to show through the painting, giving it this awesome antique look. Which totally brings everything together very nicely. I want to do a bunch of variant color versions of these guys. Maybe figure out a different way of doing the cats so they don’t have to be long cat vertical. LOL. Should be fun.

I want to do a pink/red one next.

New Threadless shirt submission is up. Wakka Wakka Wakka, it’s old school video game parody cat time. Because really, CATS are awesome! I like the idea of the ghosts as persian kittens.

Gingerbread men in lingerie is also still up for votes and comments.

And as a side note Threadless is running a deal on 10 dollar shirts for the next 3-days. Sadly I’ve already spend all of my cash on Teefury and Woot randoms shirts. The mystery of the shirts always drags me in.
