Blue Genie, Prints and X-mas cards. I fixed my store!

Blue Genie, Prints and X-mas cards. I fixed my store!

Yay! after much gnashing of teeth and one wig out I’ve managed to fix most of the problems on my shop… which would have been less annoying if updating the store and wordpress hadn’t also set all of my stock down to 0 turning off the ability to order anything. I don’t know who thought that’d be a great idea but thankfully it was easy to fix. A little pop up telling me to set my stock would have been nice but thankfully I noticed it 3 hours after updating. I need to do an update on my shops site design I’ll probably end up doing that right before I switch to a different shop setup. Wheeee. Oh the convenience of the web always proving that I am slow and lazy.

To everyone who purchased my Christmas cards, all of the orders have been shipped out pretty much the day I’ve received them. I’ve been really good about this because I want you guys to get them in time for Christmas. =D I still have cards to sell so please go buy some if you like them.

I am also going to start putting some of my older designs into the shop as prints. I’ve had them available at cons but haven’t been adding them to the store because of that whole being lazy and slow thing that I mentioned earlier. So here’s two that people have asked for: “Knittens” and “Cute has a flavor”.

The Blue Genie Art Bazaar started today. I was able to get most of my stuff up and looking good on my giant wall. The Blue Genie Art Bazaar is this art show that’s put on in Austin, Texas where artists get an 8 FT x 8 FT wall and can basically decorate it in anyway they’d like. This is my second year putting stuff up in it. Last year was really good so I hope people locally will come out again and look at the art that’s up. They have a bar so you can get drunk shopping. =D

I always feel super stressed getting stuff ready for it and so much better once all of my stuff is on the wall. I slept forever today since everything was all up and done.

I other news I finally finished my taxes… did I mentioned that I’m lazy? Thankfully I’m getting a refund back so the delay doesn’t hurt me, but I’m so happy to have that monkey off my back. I’ll try not to be so much of a hermit.

PUKE CATS, index card prints, and one last convention!!!

PUKE CATS, index card prints, and one last convention!!!

Wheee, I have new art.

I have made an image of the cute puke cats from this image as their own hellish repeating design. =D

In Photoshop this tiny image of bright colored kittens can be tiled forever… think about that. I know I have. =P I had fun making multiply sized prints of this by just using the pattern fill option in Photoshop.

After all the cons I’ve been to in the last three months I’m glad that Animefest, next weekend in Dallas, is the last on I have planned for a long time. Me and Shawnna will be in the Artist alley somewhere. We’re going to have to go up there early again and pick hopefully a good table. But it should be fun. There are a bunch of people that I’ll be happy to see in the Dallas area again. Hopefully it will go smoothly like San Japan did and not like how Animefest went 2 years ago. I have much hope. =D

And now some images of the 4×6 post card prints that I had printed recently. The printing came out so nicely. I had four images printed:

Cat Puking Kittens

A-kon was really good this year… which I’m posting as if it’s news because even I didn’t realize that I made close to 3 times what I made last year until I got home and checked the numbers. Woot, estimated tax money and health care! The laminated signs and extra larger weird cat prints really seemed to help draw people into the booth to get clobbered by both me and Shawnna’s adorable buttons and art. My most popular piece of art for people to stare at and point friends to, was this image of the “Cat Puking Kittens” from the new Catalyst folio.

Speaking of the Catalyst folio, YAY! Oh my god, it printed soo nicely. I got the book from the printer and ran around the house showing it to both of my cats… they seemed to like sleeping on it. The paper is all smooth and glossy and the printing is very rich and sharp. I’m so happy with them. It’s 16 pages of weird kitties doing odd things in a convenient 5.5″ x 8.5″ inch size. Look I offer photos!

It has a wrap around cover!

And here’s a link where you can order this folio: Catalyst! Also there more photos and links to some of the cat images inside the folio. Um, it’s weird!

In other news my iMac’s hard drive exploded… freak death, it just stopped working and now it won’t boot. Thankfully I’m totally covered by Apple Care so, woot, free hard drive. The only bad part is they’re not sure they can save my important data from the dying drive. I have to cross my fingers and hope that I can backup most of the new My Muse comics, some of my prints/art, and hopefully my tax info for last year when I take it back in. Thankfully, I do most of my art work on my laptop. Which reminds me I really need to back up some data on that computer. Sigh. Well, at least I’m not paying for the repair.

More My Muse characters, every comic needs some kids right? Okay, okay, I’m kidding, these guys were designed for an upcoming muse comic that I haven’t posted yet. When I create new characters for my comics I tend to draw them a few times to get a feel for how they should look. So, I also did this little marker version of them to post. You can probably tell what these kids are going to be talking about in the comic, right? Well, you might be surprised. =D

The artist’s worst enemy!

This is the background I used for one of my weird cat images but I liked the background so much I thought I’d post this piece as it’s own image. Also I spent most of the time on the background so here is all my effort. =D

In other news the hardcover version of the DarkStalkers Tribute book is now available for order. Which I’m pleased about because my super cute image will be in it along with a bunch of amazing artists… I can’t wait to see it myself. =D They’ll have a soft cover version available later in the year.

Darkstalkers, Cake, and Store update

Darkstalkers, Cake, and Store update

I finally located the combo version of my first entry in the Udon Darkstalkers contest. This is the one that didn’t make it into the tribute book so I can post it for you all to see.

Even though I can’t show you the final version of the image that did make it into the tribute book I can show you a preview of it. In the form of my super rough sketch version that I drew to figure out what I wanted the image to look like. The final version is much cooler than this tiny thing.

I still can’t believe I thought doing a 5 character image with a giant sunflower and background was a good idea right before the deadline. =/

Cough, also there’s this image that I did before I did the Darkstalker stuff that i haven’t had any idea what to do with. My friend Sterling made a joke about this and I sort of ran with it… sorry Sterling. I’m sort of wondering if posting this isn’t sort of like showing up at the end of a party after everyone has already gone home. But what the hell…

The cake is a lie... er, I mean, pie!

This is the image that I made that was suppose to be a rough for a painting to match the sleeping cat I made as the header for this website. But I really like it on it’s own sketchy merit. I used bits of this image to make the bottom image of this website theme. It has a very dreaming feel.

In other news:

Wow, this is really cool. The Novel “Demon’s Lexicon” gets an awesome Japanese cover. Heh heh.

Here’s an interview with Phil Folio about going from print comics to webcomics. It’s really interesting. Makes me want to work harder.

Buy my Art! Save my clothing!

I have opened a site store! Woot! Finally. So now you can order prints, buttons, and my comics using Paypal. It should all quick and easy. I’ve been trying to get this thing up for awhile now but I only now got everything on it and tested it. There still some stuff that needs to be added to it but I’m please to announce that it’s functioning! Please take a look around… let me know if anythings broken.

Also here’s a My Muse image of me and the state of my clothing… which right now is sad and terrible.
